Last night I had my heart broken. Just a little bit but more than anyone would ever like.

I had to watch the woman I love cry after we lost a beloved pet.

Our Budgie flew away. Took his opportunity with a door that was opoen no more than 3 seconds and he took off.

Is weird when you tell people because I dont think people realise how attached you become to a bird like this. One who talks and walks up to you and will fly around your home but always somehow manage to land on your head or your shoulder.

"Gorgeous" (I didnt get to choose the name. If I had the bird would be known as 'psycho' or 'bastard') is hopefully still close by. We have walked streets, I have left messages with anywhere people may call about him. Heidi is placing an ad in the paper and we are just waiting.

In the meantime though it is just incredibly sad. There is nothing we could have done. We are always so careful with the door when he is out and yesterday was no exception. He just needed that split second to get out.

The search continues and I will let you all know how we go.
