I like to walk, usually during the day on weekends I will try and walk 10km or so and see where is leads me. It is weird the places I end up. Yesterday I didnt get to walk during the day so I thought I would go for a walk after dinner.

I often walk around Carlton, Collingwood and Fitzroy as it is where the more interesting people are to be seen. Headphones on listening to the football I started walking. It was all pretty uneventful until I turned around past the tennements in Carlton. As I turned a corner I walked right into the middle of four guys doing a drug deal.

They obviously thought I was some sort of cop or law enforcement person (obviously undercover in my daggy shorts, crap sneakers and old All Blacks jumper) and they freaked out. Stuff was thrown, they were reaching into their jeans looking for stuff and lots of swearing and cursing was directed towards me and each other.

For my part I kept on walking in the vague hope of not being stabbed and hoping they believed my rather poor impersonation of a person who hadnt seen anything. Eyes straight ahead and thanking god they were all wearing jeans so low they couldnt reach whatever the hell they were looking for in their pockets.

As I got round the corner there was two policeman sitting in their car listening to the radio. I thought about saying something but my scared little legs wouldnt let me. They were moving in their direction (as far away from the bad men as possible) and quickly. I was just along for the ride.

I think I will dodge that little area for a while. Glad I scared them though and I hope whatever they through away they find again rather than someone else stumble across it. My walk today will be through somewhere a lot less interesting.
